STUDIOCANAL ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF "2e BUREAU"

Fabrice de la Patellière has held the position of Head of Fiction at CANAL+ since 2002. He is now partnering with STUDIOCANAL, a subsidiary of the CANAL+ Group and European leader in the production and distribution of films and series, to create his own production company: 2e Bureau.

2e Bureau, which began its operations in May 2022, will produce premium series and mini-series for channels and platforms for the French and international media landscape.

The slate will focus on high-concept series that blend escapism and realism, providing an original take on major themes that affect our world today, as well as genre series carried by their author's vision.

Fabrice de la Patellière explains: "I’m very grateful to STUDIOCANAL for making this dream possible. Joining the studio is both an extension of my work in “Création Originale” and a new beginning. It’s an opportunity for me to work a little closer with the writers and directors, to continue exploring with them the extraordinary form of narrative you get with series. In an ultra-competitive environment where the public is ever more demanding, the strength of the proposal as well as the quality of the writing and production remain determining factors."

Fabrice de la Patellière joined the CANAL+ Group in 2002 as Head of Fiction for CANAL+ and in 2005 created the label "Création Originale CANAL+". He has multiple successes to his credit such as Le Bureau des Légendes (The Bureau), Engrenages (Spiral), Hippocrate (Hippocrates), Baron Noir, Braquo, Les Revenants (The Returned), Mafiosa, Guyane (Guyana), Platane, Kaboul Kitchen and, more recently, Validé (All the Way Up), Ovni(s) (UFOs) and Paris Police 1900. He’s also developed international co-productions such as Carlos, Borgia, Versailles, The Young Pope, ZeroZeroZero and La Guerre des Mondes (War of the Worlds). These series have received numerous awards in France and abroad.
